Message From The Owner:

Greetings!  I’m Richard and I’ve been a builder for most of my life.

I’m a born and raised proud Texan.  My Pawpaw and Dad had their own construction companies, and now I have my own too.  I’ve built a lot of things in the past, but decks, patio covers, and fences are my favorite because we get to be outside and we can perform all the work ourselves from start to finish.

But enough about me, you’re looking to have something great built in your backyard.

Go ahead and give us a call if you’re wanting to build anything related to decks, deck covers, patios, patio covers, porches, pergolas, arbors, gazebos, pavilions, sunrooms, fences, gates, steps, handrails, and anything like that.  Everything we build is custom to your available space, budget, and desired outcome.  If you’re looking for an experienced deck builder in Rowlett, we qualify.

We’re guilty of excellent customer service, honesty, and having fair prices.  We like to work within a 50-mile radius of Lake Ray Hubbard.

Call for a free estimate or if you have a question, we’d be happy to help you and tell you what we know.  Always trust a licensed & bonded contractor to build on your property.

Rowlett Decks & Patio Covers

Low bids are attractive but they may not always be the best deal in the long run! There are many contractors in the Rowlett area you can talk to, but we build more than 80 outdoor decks every year for a good reason.

For more than 20 years, the staff at Rowlett Deck and Patio Covers has been in the business of building and designing fences, pergolas, gazebos, patio covers, and decks. In fact, we’re the company that’s called to repair decks constructed by our competition! Are we worth the investment? Just ask our customers!

In Rowlett and the surrounding areas, you won’t find a better warranty than our 10-year workmanship guarantee. We know our business, we know our environment, and we know which materials will stand the test of time when solidly constructed which is why we can afford this extensive guarantee. If we build it, you won’t be out there in a few years repairing your deck, because it will still be standing strong!

A pretty flower bed is just the beginning of building curb appeal. Adding one of our outdoor decks or living spaces provides the framework for long-lasting curb appeal through the use of quality materials and good design principles! Don’t save money and wind up with a deck that sags and ages your home over time. For just a little more, you can create a long-lasting space that adds to your home’s appeal instead of detracting from it over time!

A home’s value increases when a well-designed deck is added. The psychological value of this investment increases as you get the opportunity to enjoy your private and calm outdoor living area! Building a deck is a one-time investment that pays dividends for many years.

Help us figure out what you want by printing out photos from magazines or telling us in detail what you want! We’re experienced builders and can turn your ideas into reality. We’ve been in business for a long time, so we can also share pictures of some of our work in Rowlett. Rowlett Decks and Patio Covers has done many outdoor living projects in Rowlett and the greater DFW area over the last few years!

Why Add A Wood Deck?

Done right, a wood deck enhances your home enjoyment and can create an outdoor space for living day-to-day, add square footage, capture a view, and provide hours of enjoyment at parties! The transition from your home’s interior to your outdoor deck should be seamless with you and your family just as comfortable on your deck are you are inside.

No matter what style your home may be, a deck can be designed that fits in with, and even enhances, your home’s exterior. Decks can be elaborate or simple, depending upon your personal preferences. Deciding upon the look and feel of your new deck is your job while our job is to ensure that the deck you receive is sturdy enough to stand the test of time, meshes with your home’s exterior, and fits with how you use it!

Wood Deck Ideas

If you’re going to the trouble of adding a wood deck, it’s important to design one that is perfect just for you! Small details can turn the project from a nice area to entertain into a private retreat right on your doorstep. Pavers, ponds, and even in-ground pools can be added to your deck’s design!

Decks don’t have to be a single level. Stairs and platforms can be readily built into the design. Using plants and potted trees, intimate gathering spots can be worked into your layout for smaller get-togethers or intimate conversations. A play area for the kids next to lounges for the adults helps to create a peaceful gathering place with plenty of activities for your guests!

Entertaining large groups on your deck is simplified when bench seating is added. No need to haul out additional chairs for a larger than normal party with party design built into the space! Wood is such a versatile building material so customization is a breeze and decks can be planned to meet your specific needs.

Outdoor decks that include a dining and kitchen area effectively expand the square footage of your living space. After a long day, you can retreat to your sunroom or covered screened-in deck to rest and recharge! Expand your outdoor deck with a wet bar or a hot tub and you’ll be able to enjoy the fresh air in a relaxed setting that fully complements your home.

While you’re still in the planning stages, give us a call! We have the expertise to provide you with ideas for your special space that are easy to implement. Working together with you, we can help you realize a final result that meets or exceeds your expectations! During the design phase, let your imagination run freely and we’ll let you know what’s possible within your budget and work to make your dream come true!

Construction Of Wooden Decks

Strong, weather-treated wood is necessary for a wooden deck to stand the test of time and these decks can readily be built to your particular specifications. In order to get a finished product that is high-end, only high-quality materials are used throughout the building process.

Treated pine and IPE are the most commonly used wood types in our region of Texas. When finished, the end look is gorgeous! Buyers can expect these decks to remain looking good for many years when regular maintenance is performed.

Composite Decks

Building a composite deck is a decision that requires some serious thought. You can add to the value of your home with a high-quality deck as well as adds to the happiness of your family. It’s increasingly necessary to use aesthetic materials and this is one of the reason why composite decks have become more popular. Rowlett Decks & Patio Covers use the highest quality of materials, like TimberTechFiberon, and Trex, and which ensures that a deck we install will provide years of enjoyment and fun for the family, without the headache of high cost maintenance!

Your deck should complement your home and add to your lifestyle. Rowlett Decks & Patio Covers enjoy building decks that will be around for a long time while improving the functionality of a home and its visual appeal!

Ideas for Composite Decks

You can have an elaborate composite deck that will look amazing even if your home does not have several stories. You just need to be creative in your design. Call on us if you need to discuss any ideas and whether the design you have created is feasible. We may have ideas that you may not even realize are possible!

The use of composite decking can not only replace your old porch but can add your personal touch to a back or front entryway. Decorate and design your new deck so that it matches any and all of your preferences, so when you step out on the deck you feel a sense of peace! While we specialize in composite decks, we can also help you to install hardscapes, spas, both portable and in-ground, as well as outdoor kitchens.

See the scope of your property when you plan your deck design by searching out and finding your favorite view! Craft your deck as a private outlook with views of your yard or the flowers you planted last year! The deck can even turn out to be the preferred sitting area for you, your family, and your guests.

In heavily populated residential localities, privacy is often a concern. To address any privacy concerns, you can explore the option of installing a wall on your deck. These walls can be just the solution for an area where you sunbathe or have a spa!

A great focal point is crucial and when you design a deck for yourself, you may find it difficult to decide on a focal point. You may feel you need a fire pit but aren’t sure how you can fit it into your design. You can find ideas online, let your imagination go wild, and if you need our help, just give us a call!

Construction and Composite Decks

Composite decks typically use high-quality materials for their construction and at Rowlett Decks & Patio Covers, we prefer to use TimberTechFiberon, and Texas materials for these deck projects. These materials do require regular maintanance like all decks and they come with a warranty that extends for 20 to 25 years.

These materials are manufactured from reclaimed items of wood, high-density polyethylene, and plastic. The reclaimed materials would otherwise have found their way into landfills. The use of these materials helps us create beautiful composite decks and gives us a feeling that we are doing our bit to help the environment!

Patio Covers

The heat and the sun in Texas can make it uncomfortable for you to enjoy your patio time but a patio cover that is well-built and with added outdoor ceiling fans will ensure that you have shelter and comfort despite the heat and sun! After a long exhausting day, this is your nice shady spot where you can sit and relax. Your existing patio might have given years of service to your family, but patio covers will add to its utility.

When you cover your patio, you add to your options for outdoor entertainment. Put in a few extra chairs along with a picnic table, and it allows you to host a birthday party attended by several friends, or you can keep it simple and go romantic with a small bistro set just for two. You may have other reasons for building a cover for your patio, but whatever it is, we at Rowlett Decks & Patio Covers can help in turning your vision into reality!

Why Patio Covers?

No Need to Cancel Cookouts: There may have been times you have had to cancel cookouts because of a rainstorm. Add a patio cover and you can reduce the cancelation of cookouts due to the Texas heat and humidity! But Texas does have storms that come with winds so a patio cover alone won’t always save your cookout.

Sturdy Construction:  Texans are no strangers to serious storms. Patio covers must be built so that they can withstand bad weather and not get blown away as often happens to pre-made kits. Our patio covers are custom made with the highest quality materials that ensures the finished product is sturdy. Before construction begins, an engineer will stamp and seal all the drawings for your patio cover.

Protection from the Elements: Weather elements, like wind, rain, and sun can often create conditions that are not comfortable. Patio covers will allow you to enjoy your patio when the rain and wind are gentle or when the days are hot and sunny.

Protect Patio Furniture: Patio furniture, when exposed to the sun and other weather conditions can get discolored or turn brittle. Your patio cover will allow your patio furniture to maintain it’s veneer and you won’t need to put it away or cover it when it’s not being used.

The Home’s Aesthetic Value is Increased: There’s no doubt that a nicely designed and well-built patio cover looks great! It can go a long way toward increasing the aesthetics of your home and ensuring that your patio doesn’t get discolored because of exposure to the elements. You can even paint the wood or stain it so that it complements the existing colors of your home and completes the overall look.

Arbors and Pergolas

Perk up your existing deck, porch, or patio by adding to its functionality and class with an arbor or pergola! Arbors and pergolas are types of gazebos or can be used as an extension to buildings, to create links between buildings, or for open-air terraces. If they are not attached to a building, these structures can become elegant garden fixtures that give you an opportunity to relax and enjoy nature!

Pergolas are not designed to provide complete shade to any area or protection from the elements, as a patio cover would. As a Texan homeowner, you may choose to add handmade 1 x 2 lattice, or 2 x 2 slats to increase the shade or provide privacy. We can also use poly-carbonate panels on your pergola or arbor that will provide further protection from the weather and that can be built to fit any deck, patio, or garden area!

Pergolas or arbors can also be built to provide cover to your outdoor kitchen, private reading area, or your hot-tub. These structures can help you disconnect from the stresses in your daily life while you connect to nature! You can create a living privacy wall if you put in a flowering vine that covers both the sides and the ceiling, and allows you to be enclosed in nature.

In certain climates and locations, you can use your pergola or arbor as a greenhouse. With an open roof the plants are nourished by the sun and rain, while you have shade to enjoy your plants. Use these structures for a sauna, an outdoor kitchen, or even a wet bar!

Materials Used

Any type of wood can be used for pergolas and arbors, though the most commonly used are cedar and treated pine. Rowlett Decks & Patio Covers uses high-quality materials from start to finish and this ensures that the finished product is of the highest quality! We often make use of natural materials like slate tiles to give you the look that you desire.
